Why didn’t I think to do this look today?

Everybody wants the sexy yet cute doe-eyed look, so here’s some tricks and tips to achieve that.
- Always start with the brows. Brow shape can make or break your look, having them groomed well- not over plucked, nor under plucked, can really open up your eye area. I suggest getting your eyebrows done by a professional first and then attempting at home.
- Lashes all out! You want your eyelashes to be pulling your eye up, not down, so curl them up and sweep a coat or two of your favorite mascara vertically. Make sure to get down into the roots, wiggle around, and then pull up.
- Dimension. It can be achieved simply by using two eyeshadows in the same color family, the lighter color on the higher points of your eyes (the center of your lid, above your lashes, and inner corners) and blending into the darker color. This is just like contouring and highlighting for your eyeballs!
- Thicker in the middle. This can be a good thing! Apply your eyeliner a bit thicker right in the middle of your eye and the rest of it should fade out into thinner lines.
- Blue hue. Using blue eyeliners/shadows close to white of your eye will make it appear much brighter and have less of a chance of getting “lost,” than with black eyeliners.
- Lighten your load. Using light and shimmery colors on the lid will really give you a much more bright look!
- Conceal with peach/pink. If you have under eye bags it can really make your eyes look smaller, conceal them using a peachy/pink colored concealer- it will help much more than a normal yellow based one!
- Instead of smokey, go bright! If you crave that dramatic eye look but feel as though all that black makes your eyes disappear, try a bright color like blue, orange, or pink.
- Beam of light. Don’t be afraid to go shimmer happy on your inner corners and brow bone. It really helps bring attention to those areas and open up your eyes.
- Use your eye as a guideline. This sounds so obvious but many people forget that your own structure of your eye is going to be the best! Keeping the majority of the color around your natural eye shape will help make sure that you don’t get too carried away.
- Falsies. Don’t be afraid to try out false eyelashes, your eyelashes are truly one of your best bets to open up your eyes!
- Use a powder! Shade your natural eye contour with a powder that’s a few shades darker than your skin tone. It will naturally make your eyes look wider.
- Line your waterline. Beiges, peaches, and whites will open your eyes up.
- Line your lower lids. Shimmery colors in peach, gun metal, bronzes, and plums will really look fantastic, think Mila Kunis, she always has makeup on her lower lid!
- Wear a bright lipstick. Sounds weird but it can direct the attention from your “small” eyes to your big, bold, and bright lips!
- Invest in a good eyelash curler. If you have flat eyelashes or they aren’t as curled and doll-like as you wish, make sure to get a quality eyelash curler! Cheap ones can break off your lashes and leave you more prone too getting a “crimped” look rather than a natural curl.

FOTD: Gloomy Friday
Today has been pretty dull outside, so I figured I would counteract it with some perfect-for-spring bright lipstick! Since my skin is relatively clear, I also avoided any form of foundation just to be completely safe. My mom may not be a fan of bright lips, but I’m sure enjoying this look :)

Hello, lovelies!
MAC just released the preliminary information about the first of their upcoming Fall 2012 collections, the MAC and Carine Roitfeld Collection. Not too much has been revealed other than the fact that the collection will be released with 20 pieces that will focus on eyes and brows. Seeing as Carine’s signature look is that of strong brows and smoky eyes, I think we can expect lots of browns and grays!
One exciting piece that is going to be released with this collection is the Good Luck Star Stencil, a first for MAC!
Hello, lovelies!
It’s that time again… another preview for yet another MAC collection! MAC has just released its preview for the MAC Lips & Tips Summer 2012 Collection, a collection made up entirely of lipstick, lip glosses and nail polish!
Here are the product descriptions:
While I am not too excited about the lipsticks in the collection (the majority are permanent colors), I am pretty excited about the lipglasses! I’m still on the fence regarding the nail polishes, seeing as MAC has yet to settle on a single formula and it’s hard to tell whether or not a polish will be any good until it’s released.
It’s interesting to see MAC coming out with these specialized collections. First, it was Tres Cheek and now Lips & Tips. I have a feeling that if this collection does well, MAC may come out with even more single-focus collections.
What do you guys think of single-focus collections? What focus would you prefer?
Knowing your skin type helps you determine what kind of products you need for skin care and also cosmetics. Your skin type dictates which skin care products to buy will help you maintain or achieve clearer skin or an improved complexion. Skin type also plays a very important role when it comes to foundation or other “face makeup” since there are so many different kinds which can either make or break your appearance.Skin types can also change with the seasons so keep in mind that your Winter skin care routine may not work for your skin in Summer, and if this is the case you will need to be able to spot the differences and adjust your routine accordingly to prevent unsavory skin.
There are 5 main skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination, or sensitive, although it is possible to have sensitive normal, dry, oily, or combination skin. How do I determine my skin type?Normal:
- People with normal skin tend to have an even complexion (lucky!) with small pores, a surface that isn’t too oily or too dry, and few breakouts. People with normal skin are lucky enough to have the least problematic skin (therefore the least intensive skin care) and with it being so supple it ages well too.
Dry:
- People with dry skin tend to have a somewhat ruddy complexion with pores that are barely visible, has flaky areas (such as the cheeks, chin, or around the nose), and a dull appearance. Dry skin is more prone to wrinkles than other skin types and may cause some irritation. This skin type needs special attention when it comes to moisturization in order to replenish the skin.
Oily:
- People with oily skin tend to have a sheen to their face with prominent pores, and frequent acne or blemishes. Oily skin also becomes shiny much faster than the other skin types and requires special attention with mattifying products if you want to keep the shine away. Contrary to what you would think, oily skin requires gentle and careful cleansing since harsher products will stimulate the skin to produce more oil.
Combination:Sensitive:
- People with combination skin tend to have an oily T-zone (forehead and nose to chin) with possibly dry patches, more noticeable pores and breakouts on the T-zone. Since combination skin has a mixture of skin types, skin care can be a bit tedious since the oily parts need gentle cleansing and the dry parts (if you have them) need moisturizing products.
- People with sensitive skin can have a blotchy complexion with delicate skin, dryness, and the tendency to react with products or become easily irritated. Sensitive skin is the most problematic and needs very a very specific skin care routine with products that won’t irritate or inflame the skin.

Look at what I was able to find on ebay for a reasonable price!
MAC’s Hibiscus from the Surf, Baby! collection has been a color that I’ve been searching for a long time. I was fortunate enough to find it for $24.99 from a very reputable seller and received it within 3 days of the purchase!
Are there any LE products out there from previous collections of any brand that you’re still desperately looking for? What’s your favorite limited edition collection of all time?](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2pc2tXsNK1r3rpzqo1_r1_500.jpg)
